Loffredo è un pittore che piace per il suo approccio non reverenziale nei confronti dell’arte.

Loffredo usa l’arte per la sua primaria essenza, ossia come un mezzo comunicativo nonché come mezzo di scambio con gli artisti contemporanei e soprattutto con i suoi allievi.

Chi lo conosce anche poco sa che tra i suoi soggetti più amati vi troviamo i battisteri ed, in particolare, i gatti.

I suoi gatti sono diventati quasi una sorta di logo, un “marchio di fabbrica”, che per un certo periodo diviene immancabile sul retro dei dipinti, nel nostro caso ve ne sono ben due che si fronteggiano.

“Il gatto bianco” presenta un uso del colore molto liquido, sono ben visibili colature e coaguli.

Il gatto, appena piegato sulle zampe anteriori sembra mostrarci le terga, ulteriore chiave ironica dell’autore che con questo dipinto sembra farsi beffe di noi.

Loffredo is a painter who is liked for his non-reverential approach to art.

Loffredo uses art for its primary essence, namely as a means of communication as well as a means of exchange with contemporary artists and especially with his students.

Those who know him even a little know that among his best-loved subjects are baptisteries and, in particular, cats.

His cats have become almost a kind of logo, a ‘trademark’, which for a certain period became inevitable on the back of the paintings, in our case there are two of them facing each other.

“The White Cat” presents a very liquid use of colour, drips and clots are clearly visible.

The cat, just bent over on its front paws seems to show us its terga, a further ironic key of the author who seems to mock us with this painting.
