Cavaglieri, ormai mezzo francofono, nel 1962 decide di intitolare questa fresca opera proprio in francese: Les bois (I boschi).

Possiamo una volta di più apprezzare la leggerezza del tratto che delicatissimo descrive le fronde degli alberi visibilmente mossi dal vento.

Le linee sono particolarmente sottili in alcuni punti, tanto da far pensare un utilizzo del pennino ed in successivi tratti un recupero fatto con un pennello. 

L’apporto coloristico è esiguo, senza la minima rifinitura, rapido ed incalzante, quel tanto che basta per ottenere un ottimo effetto chiaroscurale ed un esaustivo colpo d’occhio che da solo riuscirà ad unificare i particolari e creare una compatta visione d’insieme.

Tonalità pastello che puntano a veicolare, ed alle volte schiarire, quel semplice foglio brunito in grado però di imprimere una personalità accattivante all’intera opera.

Cavaglieri, now half French-speaking, decided in 1962 to title this fresh work precisely in French: Les bois (The Woods).

We can once again appreciate the lightness of the stroke that delicately describes the fronds of the trees visibly moved by the wind.

The lines are particularly fine in some places, so much so that they suggest a use of the nib and in later strokes a recovery made with a brush.

The coloristic contribution is meager, without the slightest refinement, quick and pressing, just enough, however, to achieve an excellent chiaroscuro effect and an exhaustive glimpse that alone will succeed in unifying the details and creating a compact overall view.

Pastel tones that aim to convey, and sometimes lighten, that simple burnished sheet, but which can impart an appealing personality to the entire work.
