Questo vecchio pezzo di porta dai connotati intriganti evidenzia una particolare ricerca di equilibrio tra l’elemento ligneo e la pittura.

I due elementi che compongono l’insieme riescono, in un soppesato gioco di parti, ad enfatizzare al meglio i reciproci aspetti più identificativi.

Le venature e la ruvidezza del legno vengono riscaldate dalla scelta cromatica fatta da Scatizzi che è riuscito a modulare anche la componente disegnativa in relazione alle assi del legno che non combaciano tra loro.

Anche il porre la linea dell’orizzonte in un punto tanto alto è stata sicuramente una scelta in buona parte veicolata proprio da quell’asse sfalsata, con la quale coincide. 

Il risultato è un dipinto dal grande carattere, dove le imperfezioni diventano sintomo di personalità.

Un insieme dalle marcate influenze rustiche e campagnole, che però ben possono sposarsi anche in ambienti moderni perché in grado di smorzarne quel rigore stilistico.

This old piece of door with intriguing connotations shows a particular search for balance between the wooden element and the painting.

The two elements that make up the whole manage, in a balanced interplay of parts, to emphasise each other’s most identifying aspects to the full.

The grain and the roughness of the wood are warmed by the chromatic choice made by Scatizzi, who has also managed to modulate the drawing component in relation to the planks of wood that do not fit together.

Even placing the horizon line at such a high point was certainly a choice largely conveyed by that offset axis, with which it coincides.

The result is a painting with great character, where imperfections become a symptom of personality.

An ensemble with marked rustic and country influences, which, however, can also blend well in modern environments because they are able to soften that stylistic rigour.
