Ancora una volta la frutta estiva è protagonista nelle opere di Sergio Scatizzi.

L’anguria, col suo colore squillante non può non catalizzare la scena su di sé, ne possiamo saggiare la minuziosa ricerca cromatica, nella parte bianca della polpa vicino alla buccia ma anche nei neri e lucidi semi che spiccano come stelle nella parte scarlatta.

Vicino troviamo un ricco grappolo di uva nera sui cui acini sembra riflettersi un po’ di quel bagliore carminio dell’anguria, senza però inficiare della sua cupa ma invitante personalità.

A completare la composizione, ed anche in un certo senso bilanciarla sia per disposizione che cromatismo, troviamo sulla destra una pesca cui è stata tolta una fetta e che perciò mette in mostra il nocciolo insieme al suo interno aranciato ma al contempo ci mostra la vellutata buccia.

Una grassezza materica ridondante ed impetuosa, un inno all’imperfezione ed alla caducità ma al tempo stesso anche un’ode alla vita.

Once again, summer fruit is the protagonist in Sergio Scatizzi‘s work.

The watermelon, with its dazzling colour, cannot fail to focus the scene on itself. We can taste the meticulous chromatic research, in the white part of the pulp near the peel but also in the shiny black seeds that stand out like stars in the scarlet part.

Nearby we find a rich cluster of black grapes on whose berries some of that carmine glow of the watermelon seems to be reflected, without however detracting from its dark but inviting personality.

Completing the composition, and also in a certain sense balancing it both in terms of arrangement and chromaticism, we find on the right a peach from which a slice has been removed and which therefore shows off the stone together with its orange interior, but at the same time showing us the velvety skin.

A redundant and impetuous material fatness, a hymn to imperfection and transience but at the same time also an ode to life.
