Le notevoli dimensioni della tavola, l’età avanzata ed i problemi fisici del pittore sono state sicuramente delle problematiche non indifferenti per Scatizzi.

Lo spirito e l’abnegazione per la pittura erano per lui il vero motore che gli permetteva di avere uno scopo ed, al tempo stesso, tale scopo era la sua ragione di vita: la pittura.

Può sembrare una delle solite frasi fatte, ma per Scatizzi fu proprio così; infatti dopo pochi giorni dalla conclusione del suo ultimo sogno coronato, ossia la sua seconda mostra a Palazzo Pitti, il pittore morì.

Dipingere aveva un effetto catartico su Scatizzi. 

Durante le fasi creative l’autore si estraniava completamente.

Il risultato di tale impegno è però assolutamente notevole.

Il paesaggio dalle colorazioni particolarmente scure, ma sempre caratterizzate dalle innumerevoli e variegate sfumature, trovano un delicato corrispettivo pastello nel cielo rosato.

Un contrasto che permette di bilanciare la composizione ed al tempo stesso di portarla in una dimensione onirica e tenerissima.

The painter’s considerable size of the board, advanced age and physical problems were certainly not insignificant problems for Scatizzi.

For him, the spirit and self-denial for painting were the real driving force that allowed him to have a purpose and, at the same time, this purpose was his reason for living: painting.

It may sound like one of the usual catchphrases, but for Scatizzi it was just like that; in fact, a few days after the conclusion of his last crowned dream, his second exhibition at Palazzo Pitti, the painter died.

Painting had a cathartic effect on Scatizzi.

During the creative phases, the painter would completely extricate himself.

The result of this effort is, however, absolutely remarkable.

The landscape with its particularly dark colours, but still characterised by the countless and varied nuances, finds a delicate pastel counterpart in the rosy sky.

A contrast that balances the composition and at the same time brings it into a dreamlike and tender dimension.
