Un dipinto raffigurante due dipinti, un espediente che non si vede troppo di frequente in pittura, soprattutto nel Novecento.

Il tutto assume una visione quasi metafisica.

Il quadro nel quadro conduce lo sguardo dell’osservatore su un duplice livello, perché incarca la visione di colui che vive in prima persona quella parete, sebbene in verità ne osservi solo la rappresentazione.

Una visione facilmente fraintendibile da chi si fa poche remore ad intervenire pesantemente sulle opere d’arte.

Per questo motivo, e quindi per evitare malintesi, Scatizzi ne ammonisce eventuali intenzioni scrivendo sul retro: “l’autore desidera e consiglia di non dividerlo mai! Grazie”.

Non è la prima volta che Scatizzi si diletta in “giochi” di questo tipo, eppure in questo caso non concede la sua completa fiducia a chi ne verrà in possesso.

A painting depicting two paintings, an expedient not seen too frequently in painting, especially in the 20th century.

The whole takes on an almost metaphysical vision.

The painting within the painting leads the observer’s gaze to a double level, because it embodies the vision of one who experiences that wall first hand, although in truth he only observes its representation.

A view easily misunderstood by those who have little qualms about heavily intervening in works of art.

For this reason, and thus to avoid misunderstandings, Scatizzi warns of any intentions by writing on the back: ‘the author wishes and advises never to share it! Thank you’.

This is not the first time that Scatizzi has dabbled in ‘games’ of this kind, yet in this case he does not grant his complete trust to whoever comes into possession of it.
