Spesso, quando si parla di pittori, l’immaginario che molte persone hanno è della figura alla ricerca di ispirazione dal suo quotidiano, dal suo vissuto o alla ricerca di spunti esterni che lo portino ad una determinata catarsi creativa poi esplicata nell’opera stessa.

Questa visione non si confà a molti artisti, né della storia, né del nostro contemporaneo.

Quello che però possiamo affermare è che l’arte chiama arte. Gli artisti pertanto vengono catalizzati in luoghi frequentati da altri artisti ed avviene un naturale scambio di idee. Questi “incontri” però possono avvenire sia con persone viventi che non.

La peculiarità di Scatizzi è che fosse un pittore del suo tempo, perfettamente radicato nel tessuto capillare artistico fiorentino e toscano ma al contempo egli riusciva a dialogare ed a rapportarsi quotidianamente anche con gli artisti del passato, attraverso studi critici, delle fonti, ma anche e soprattutto attraverso un dialogo diretto con le opere.

Often, when it comes to painters, the imaginary that many people have is of the figure seeking inspiration from his daily life, from his experience, or in search of external cues that lead him to a certain creative catharsis later expressed in the work itself.

This vision does not sit well with many artists, either from history or from our contemporary times.

What we can say, however, is that art calls for art. Artists are therefore catalysed in places frequented by other artists and a natural exchange of ideas takes place. These ‘encounters’, however, can take place with both living and non-living people.

Scatizzi’s peculiarity is that he was a painter of his time, perfectly rooted in the Florentine and Tuscan artistic fabric, but at the same time he was also able to converse and relate to artists of the past on a daily basis, through critical studies, sources, but also and above all through a direct dialogue with the works.
