Oggi vogliamo presentarvi un paesaggio che abbaglia per la luce limpidezza del suo cielo.

All’orizzonte un albero solitario si staglia mentre qualche arbusto sulla destra sembra indirizzarvi il nostro sguardo, quasi come una quinta teatrale.

Il chiarore del campo viene mosso e graffiato da sferzate di verde in primo piano mentre una massa rossa, forse quelli che vogliono essere dei papaveri isolati, spezzano una composizione che rischiava altrimenti di appiattirsi.

Possiamo facilmente percepire quel senso di arsura estiva, una percezione di aridità tipica delle zone brulle e selvagge che ancora caratterizzano molte zone italiane.

La pittura stessa, così asciutta e graffiata, riesce ad infonderci proprio quella sensazione di secchezza tipica dei periodi più caldi dell’estate.

Today we want to present to you a landscape that dazzles with the clarity of its sky.

On the horizon, a solitary tree stands out while a few shrubs on the right seem to direct our gaze to it, almost like a theatrical backdrop.

The lightness of the field is moved and scratched by lashings of green in the foreground while a red mass, perhaps what are meant to be isolated poppies, break up a composition that was otherwise in danger of falling flat.

We can easily perceive that sense of summer dryness typical of the barren, wild areas that still characterise many parts of Italy.

The painting itself, so dry and scratched, manages to instil in us precisely that feeling of dryness typical of the hottest periods of summer.
