Un paesaggio importante, dagli aggetti materici che sfidano la gravità e la vincono. Grumi di colore che assumono quasi una connotazione scultorea e che si plasmano in una duttilità tipiche della creta sotto le mani del formatore.

Nella scena possiamo osservare il tipico viale che porta al mare, di quelli che si trovano in Toscana e nelle zone meno turistiche dell’Adriatico. Una apertura tra le dune sabbiose, dove è possibile trovare tutta la concentrazione di arbusti marittimi tipici dei litorali.

Lo scorcio prospettico perfetto ci invita a percorrere l’avvolgente strettoia per poi finalmente assaporare quella sensazione spaziale dell’orizzonte aperto sul mare.

Annaspiamo brevemente nella sabbia che ci rallenta mentre iodio e salsedine ci inebriano e non possiamo che chiudere gli occhi per assaporarne ogni sfumatura. 

Le sinuose concrezioni materiche di questo dipinto affascinano perché in ognuna di esse è possibile trovare quel senso di stupore continuo, ed è proprio questo aspetto a farci capire la levatura pittorica dell’opera di cui siamo spettatori.

L’opera era tra le cento selezionate e pubblicate per la grande mostra antologica del 2018 in occasione del Centenario dalla nascita di Sergio Scatizzi.

An important landscape, with material projections that defy gravity and overcome it. Lumps of colour that almost take on a sculptural connotation and are moulded into a ductility typical of clay under the moulder’s hands.

In the scene we can see the typical avenue leading to the sea, of those found in Tuscany and the less touristy areas of the Adriatic. An opening in the sand dunes, where we can find all the concentration of maritime shrubs typical of the coastline.

The perfect perspective view invites us to walk through the enveloping narrows and then finally savour that spatial sensation of the open horizon over the sea.

We briefly wade in the sand, which slows us down as iodine and saltiness intoxicate us and we can only close our eyes to savour every nuance.

The sinuous material concretions of this painting fascinate because in each one of them we can find that sense of continuous amazement, and it is precisely this aspect that makes us realise the pictorial stature of the work of which we are spectators.

The work was among the hundred selected and published for the major anthological exhibition in 2018 on the occasion of the centenary of Sergio Scatizzi’s birth.
