Dalla brillante colorazione arancio e con marcate striature nere, fanno assomigliare questo gatto di Silvio Loffredo più ad una tigre che ad un tenero gattone.

L’orgogliosi felino non può che riportarci alla memoria le tigri di Henri Rousseau o di Antonio Ligabue, divenendo quasi una miniatura di questi conturbanti autori.

Un gatto arrabbiato, dal pelo irto esattamente come baffi ed orecchie, in equilibrio sulle unghie, mentre irriverente ci mostra le terga alzando la coda.

Questo micio però manifesta un fare goliardico, che sembra quasi volersi prendere gioco di noi, proprio come fanno sovente i cotonati felini delle nostre abitazioni.

I gatti per Loffredo sono divenuti una sorta di seconda firma, è infatti molto facile poterne trovare altri appena accennati posti sul retro delle opere.

Possiamo trovare anche in questo caso il graffiante omaggio, un gatto stilizzato fatto direttamente col pennello che si pone al centro della firma e della scritta “Firenze”, dove il dipinto è stato eseguito.

Brilliant orange colouring and marked black streaks make this cat by Silvio Loffredo look more like a tiger than a cuddly cat.

The proud feline cannot help but bring to mind the tigers of Henri Rousseau or Antonio Ligabue, becoming almost a miniature of these disturbing authors.

An angry cat, with hair as bristly as whiskers and ears, balances on its claws, while irreverently showing us its terga by raising its tail.

This kitten, however, manifests a goliardic attitude, almost as if he is trying to make fun of us, just as the fluffy felines in our homes often do.

Cats for Loffredo have become a sort of second signature, and it is indeed very easy to find barely noticeable ones on the back of the works.

Here, too, we can find the scratchy homage, a stylised cat done directly with the paintbrush that stands in the middle of the signature and the words ‘Firenze’, where the painting was executed.
